The Midnight Blogger

Well, things have been so crazy over here that I haven't had two seconds to think. During the day I've got so much on my mind that even when I do sit down to write a new blog post, I can't do it. So, I have waited until now, when I'm a bit more calm to update my blog.

Let's see... School is going great! I am going to finish history and biology this week! I'm quite happy about that. I've also been trying to plow through my reading list (I think there are twenty books on it!), and I sometimes consider writing one of my papers. I plan on actually writing one next week. Hopefully.

With the overload of snow we've been getting this year, I haven't been able to teach piano and that is throwing off my plans for music lessons. I have no idea when I'll be able to take violin lessons and piano lessons are still unattainable. However, on a bright note, my brother decided to rent a violin and I have been playing around on it and can already play Hot Cross Buns! I am immensely proud of my accomplishment. ;-) It is quite fun and not as hard as I thought it would be, which is all very nice.

As far as the story contest goes, I found out on the 14th that my story made it to the finalists! I was (and still am) ecstatic! To think that there are published authors that like my writing is so encouraging. Here's the page with my name on it - Story Contest. Scroll down to the 12th grade category and you will see my book - "Broken Things." I've actually finished writing chapter nineteen and chapter twenty since my last blog post, which ended the book! It needs a great deal of work and the edited version will look distinctly different from the original, but I believe I have learned a great deal from writing this rough draft and I think a lot of things will carry over into the edit. I'm almost finished writing chapter five of my Irish story, but I can't seem to clear my head enough to work on it. Things have been so busy...

I spent a week at a friend's house in early February which was immensely fun! We played in the snow, made snow people, watched great movies, ate tons of food (I don't think I stopped eating the whole week...), talked, played Monopoly, listened to Celtic Thunder, watched Celtic Thunder, watched the SuperBowl (go Saints!), and lots of other fun and random stuff. It was great to relax and to not have to think about anything for a while.

Tonight we had our first choir practice of the season. I was thrilled of course! Choir is one of my most favorite things and tonight was really wonderful. So many people came out and Mr. Smith was in an especially good mood and everything went down grandly.

In the near future I've got much planned! I'm finishing two school subjects, going full force into some others, helping a friend edit his website - Rhyne Media, finishing writing chapter five in my Irish story, editing chapter five of Broken Things, learning some new violin pieces, learning to play a choir song, emailing some people back (don't worry - I haven't forgotten about you!), and putting together vlog #2. I'll try to keep you all updated!

Thanks for reading!

That's so neat that David borrowed a violin. Keep up the good work! =D
