Do or Die Trying

Time to get you all up to date on what's been happening around here. First of all, I've had a relentless dry cough for about a month. I went to the doctor twice, had my blood taken and tested and an x-ray done. From my blood they determined that I'm allergic to dust mites and dogs. We're not getting rid of our dog... but I am trying to get as much dust eliminated as possible. Clutter clearing, reorganizing, dusting, vacuuming, laundering, etc. And, it must be working, because my coughing has clearly diminished to only a minor annoyance.

I'm hoping this means that my bedroom makeover (fresh paint, laminate floor, wainscoting and all) will finally become a reality. Its starting to sound more like a joke now... but I keep hoping. :-) I've been making plans, calculating costs, counting my nickels... this could be the year it happens!

School is going miserably, to be honest. But, I found out I have two more weeks before graduation than I was counting on originally. So, now that my cough is starting to clear up, I'm going to give another wholehearted effort. I also found some papers I'd written and forgotten about that can count towards my English, so that's great news. :-)

My fictional writing has been almost non-existent lately. No new chapters are done or have even been worked on. I'm hoping to be able to squeeze some time in for a new chapter in my Irish story though, as I've been keeping my readers waiting far too long. I have been playing the piano more though. Between looking for new, fun pieces for my students, sight-reading and working on "July" by Tchaikovsky, I've been having a blast. I got an email from my old Russian teacher, which was very encouraging. I also may be able to take a few lessons this month from my other teacher before she leaves for Italy. In July, my very first piano teacher (from when I was six or so) is moving back to the area and will be picking me up and taking me to her house every week for a piano lesson. I'm really excited about that!

So much is about to happen that I can't even wrap my mind around it. A birthday party for my cousin, Mother's Day, a couple of doctor visits, the Family Fellowship, a visit to Wolf Trap to see The Mikado (sweet!), a friend's wedding, my brother's wedding, the HEAV Convention, Entrepreneur Day... And that's just the big stuff. It's going to be crazy, crazy busy over here, but also fun. Mix in with that good music, good food, iced tea, sunny days, good friends, etc, etc. and you've got a super awesome couple of weeks! I'll try to pop in every now and again to let you know how things are going...

"Then they that feared the Lord spake often on to another:
and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance
was written before Him for them that feared the Lord
and that thought upon His name." - Malachi 3:16
