Flying Through Summer

Hey people! What's up with you all? I've been having one interesting month. I've been here, there and everywhere - and even when I've been here, I haven't been all there. But, for the most part, it's been fun.

My Tupperware party was a huge success. Over twenty people showed up and I got a great deal of fun free stuff. ^_^ Entrepreneur Day went off without any major problems. There was a small turn out as far as buyers are concerned, but I have already begun planning better ways to advertise next year (if I am the one organizing it then). I am so glad it is over!

After Entrepreneur Day ended, I quickly moved on to new and exciting things. For the most part, I've been visiting friends. I visited the VanWingerdens down in Richmond for a while, which was very fun. They took me to the beach and to see The Sound of Music. I also went to visit my grandmother one weekend, and my little sister, Sarah, came too. We had fun watching Murder She Wrote and eating spectacular popcorn. Some old friends of ours, the Mitzels, moved back to Virginia this month and I, along with my younger brother and sister, spent a few days helping them move in. I've briefly gotten to visit with my friends, Colleen, Marie and Lizzy, as well as my brother and sister-in-law. Making lots of great memories. B-)

In my in-between time, I've been babysitting, teaching piano, brainstorming on my stories, practicing piano, keeping my life organized, working on making my graduation announcements, finishing the last bits of high school, and various other odds and ends. The laptop I use has been on it's way out for a long time, but it has recently began falling apart to an even greater and more dramatic extent. So, I spent half of yesterday and all of this morning backing up all of my documents, pictures and music to CD's. I'm saving for a new laptop and I'm hoping to be able to buy it towards the end of September or October. I'm looking forward to having a new one.

Last Sunday, I played the piano for church for the first time. It really wasn't as hard as I had always imagined it, though I was so nervous that I messed up the middle song. As it turned out, no one was even paying attention to me or my playing, as the AC had died and arrangements were being made during the singing for the congregation to move downstairs for the service. I was more or less invisible. Plus, the only the reason I was playing was because all of the other pianists weren't there, so a good portion of my friends (and of the church itself) weren't even there. I guess that makes a first time easier. I'm going to be playing again this next Sunday and I'm really looking forward to that. I'm also going to be playing for VBS, which should be fun.

I haven't had time to work on my stories, sadly. I have enough ideas to finish a new chapter in each one, but no time to write them all down! I'm going to try to make that happen tonight, but no guarantees. I'm going to be breaking into a new business venture with my friend, Ella Mitzel. I'll have more on that later as we're still in the early stages of setting it up. That should keep me on my toes! I think my piano teacher is coming back from Italy this week - I am very excited about seeing her again and hearing about her trip and having a lesson again! I have something planned almost every week throughout the fall already, and I am sure more things will pile on. I guess though, it really wouldn't be my life, if I weren't perpetually insanely busy. I'll be back soon to keep you updated on how things are going! :-)
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
