Last Days of Summer

Hello again! I can't believe it's already the last day of August. I'll miss summer, but I'm really getting excited about fall! Choir practice, different clothes, weather that I can ride a bike and take a walk in, mulled cider, hayrides, my 18th birthday, Thanksgiving, etc., etc. It's going to be lots of crazy fun...

Speaking of crazy fun, let me fill you in on the rest of VBS. Playing the piano wasn't so bad - I wish I had played better, but it was still quite fun. On Saturday, I think I was very nearly in sync with Mr. Smith. Mostly... Anyway, the week was super crazy because of babysitting half the day and going to VBS at night. I got very little sleep, but I did get a nice, long nap on Saturday afternoon to make up for it. I had a really good time at the VBS picnic on Saturday. I got a t-shirt, a 'certificate of thanks', an adorable Mouse Detective key chain, a couple of chocolate snacks, and my very own picture with special guest, Dr. I.V. Bags! Lots of awesomeness. B-)

This week has been surprisingly relaxed. Or maybe it just seems relaxed compared to the rest of my summer... In any case, I've gotten more sleep and had time to remember my name and to breathe every now and then. I don't have any big plans for this week. I'm hoping to get my room organized, get a bit of school done, and practice piano. On Saturday, my parents are (Lord-willing) going to Wolf Trap to see The Sound of Music. It's my mom's favorite play, so I'm super excited for her getting to go see it!
